Doing so has benefits on two fronts: environmental, but also economic and social.
At the environmental level, it minimises the generation of waste and optimises the use of natural resources. It also increases the proportion of renewable and recyclable resources, reduces atmospheric emissions and waste, and extends the life of products.
At an economic and business level, implementing circular economy measures brings a large number of benefits. First, it can save on production and consumption costs through less exposure to volatile commodity prices and savings in energy consumption. It also opens up new business opportunities and expansion into new markets, creating new jobs. Not to mention that, in terms of marketing, it improves the image of the workshop and its customers can access more competitive prices.
HOW CAN THE WORKSHOP MOVE FROM A LINEAR TO A CIRCULAR ECONOMY?
It can do so through oils, batteries and lamps:
Oils
Three types of oils can be used with a low environmental impact: those with a longer service life, whose price is higher than conventional oils but which mean savings for the customer in the medium to long term, as the number of oil changes is reduced; biodegradable oils, formulated with synthetic or vegetable bases, characterised by rapid biodegradability and low environmental impact; and regenerated bases, obtained by refining used oils.
Batteries
They must be stored in special containers and handed over to an authorised waste management company. The workshop can help by prolonging their life through proper maintenance and by providing the customer with a series of recommendations.
Lamps
This can be done in two ways. First, by reducing the amount of waste by offering the customer longer life lamp options. And also through the correct management of the lamps, including handling, storage, location and delivery to an authorised manager.
