And yet, they also rarely seek advice when choosing them. This is highlighted by the latest study <em>Radiography of Tires in Spain<\/em>, which among its multiple findings notes that only one in six drivers leaves the choice of tires to the workshop.<\/p>\n<p>The report, commissioned by the Spanish Tire Manufacturers Association (Afane), aims to understand and communicate vehicle owners\u2019 perceptions and habits in Spain related to the tire sector. The study also emphasizes that when choosing tires, 68% of users consider price as the most important factor. Expert recommendations from the workshop rank fourth, at 48%.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, warranty and trust, as well as durability and resistance, are also relevant aspects for users. However, differences are observed depending on the target group. Among those who seek information online, more than half do so on specialized websites, followed by tire comparison websites.<\/p>\n<p>The study segments users into four \u201ccategories\u201d based on their sensitivity toward tires, defining them as: involved, committed, relaxed, and unconcerned. The last category is the largest, at 36%, and is characterized by being the least active and least informed regarding this basic automotive component essential for road safety.<\/p>\n<p>For this study, conducted in collaboration with the consultancy The Cocktail, quantitative research was carried out among private vehicle owners (men and women) aged 18 to 65, including cars and light vans, through an online questionnaire covering all of Spain. The data shows that users are unanimously aware that poor tire maintenance poses a road safety risk, yet only 17% of drivers actively engage in this process.<\/p>\n<p>According to the study, 95% of drivers claim to be aware of the need to care for their tires, but half cannot identify the type of tires on their vehicle, and one in three admits to checking them \u201cinfrequently.\u201d The study also shows that concern and care for tires remain a pending issue for Spaniards, among whom 51% still cannot identify the type of tire they use, preventing them from understanding other essential information that could affect their safety. However, it is notable that 60% of Spaniards choose mid-range or premium tires, giving importance to factors such as warranty, trust, resistance, and durability at the time of
